How can i deploy the solution so my web part is only available in a certain web application The js com is limited in what it can do, so i want to be able to call manage. The idea is that i want to be using the same web parts in the different web applications, but they have minor changes for each different web application.
Every guide i've found uses the same commands that i am using which seems like it works but my web parts never show up in the web part gallery I have javascript (client object model) running in a content editor web part that controls other web parts on the page They do show up in the web part gallery through the visual studio deploy method so visual studio must be doing something else to provision them there.
Thanks for your detail reply
I’m having a issue with web application scope solution that not appearing in timer job definitions under ca , operations tab The problem in my scenario was the web part scope is defined for one web application where i was trying to add the web part in a completely different web application. Running the above code repeatedly while deploying or retracting never returns deploying only things like notdeployed, globaldeployed, etc I want to determine it's deploying state so my code will wait until the previous solution is deployed.
May i know, how to restrict the wsp to be deployed globally such that it is targeted only to a particular web application Any extra settings or any xml elements in vs 2012 or using powershell, for achieving this? I've been provided a wsp file that contains a webpart created by another developer I have been requested to make modifications to the webpart and repackage as a wsp file again
Here is the command that is breaking (this is the same command used to successfully deploy all 11 other web parts)
So it doesnot matter which.
