Luckily i was always able to push start as it is a manual tranny
I was almost certain that the battery was the culprit but after load testing it, it convinced me that it was the starter One part at a time, and start with the starter. The vibe's headlight housing rubber boot is about 1cm deep and fits perfectly over the barrel of the halogen bulb The assembly i used only had about 2mm of space on the barrel, which required folding and flexing the rubber boot to make it fit
Fortunately the rubber boot is very flexible (at least in the summer). My first vibe was a 5 speed manual, and i was a victim on the premature bearing failures in that tranny, so i don't recommend them, although others haven't had issues
