I have some technical difficulty in fixing the realtek driver I went to make sure it wasnt muted in the mixer, and i see the weirdest thing. I recently bought the asus p8p67 motherboard (bios version 1204) and installed the provided audio driver that came with the box which is version 6.0.1.6196

Other specs displayed in realtek info page is directx version 11.0 audio controler I did a restart and when i came back bf3 wasnt playing any sounds, which is weird because it was just working My sound mixer is not remember the settings i give to individual programs after they close and reopen

Say a game for instance, if i put the volume to 20% in the sound mixer and then exit the game, then go back on the game and check the volume in sound mixer.

Sound window (from taskbar) very slow to open this is a pretty minor problem, but also very annoying When i right click on the volume icon in the task bar and select playback devices, recording devices, or sounds nothing will happen for a couple minutes, then eventually the window will open. The first step once confirmed that the correct drivers and by the way sound app is installed is to set to the speaker settings for 5.1 or 4 speakers depending on preference You may want to check on the windows sound mixer settings as well since many often forget about that other mixer being there

Now that the hidden options are visible, right click on each of them and click on enable Right click on the what u hear option (stereo mix for non sound blaster devices) and click on set as default device.
