Truei've been looking at recteq, traeger, camp chef, z grills, and smokin bros Tariffs on china made products probably will shoot future pricing well above the $1k mark for the warrior or as a limited edition these were early ships I really can't decide, but zgrills comes off as too chinese made if that makes sense, their web site even has spelling errors
Anyway, amongst all of these the recteq is a bit more expensive for the features you get (others have pellet dumps, ash pans etc, and upper racks for cheaper
The recteq support person i talked with about this basically said A) the online videos showing the calibration procedure should be ignored because they are making new ones, b) any reading in the 30s when placed in a glass of ice water is ok, and, c) so what, i have 3 of these grills at home and i have no issues.
